Birth and Postpartum Doula Services

Pampered Labor Doula Service includes …

Customized prenatal visits – I offer two prenatal visits so we can discuss any
questions or concerns you have about labor and delivery. Some of what we’ll
discuss; relaxation techniques, labor positions, what to expect when you arrive
at the hospital or how to prepare for a home birth. We'll go over and write out
your ‘Birth Wishes' (some call it a birth plan). If you’d like, I’d be happy to
accompany you to one of your prenatal visits. And, if your hospital is new to
me, I’ll tour labor and delivery before your due date. If there’s a time your
birth partner can’t make it to a class, I'd be happy to go with you. If, during
those last few weeks, you'd like to just go to lunch and chat, we can do that
also!

Pampered Labor - Once your labor begins, I will join you as soon as you're
ready and remain with you until after the birth. After your baby's arrival I will
stay with you until you and your little one are snuggled in and comfortable. If
you've chosen to breastfeed I will be there to provide support as needed. Your
pampered labor will include items like a custom made heat pack, cuddly
slippers, hair ties, snacks and breath mints for Dad or birth partner.

Birth Day Music - I’ve found that most laboring women enjoy music playing
softly in the background. So during your labor, you’ll have the opportunity to
listen to my iPod, complete with speakers, and chose from a variety of
specially created playlists. You can listen to music that works for you whether
it's fast or slow, with or without lyrics -- I even have lullabies. If you have a
favorite CD or two, I can add them to the lineup!

My Doula Bag of Tricks has all the typical doula tools of the trade; birth ball,
massage oil and massagers, hair ties, lip balm, mints, preggie pops, snacks,
water, tea, packets of honey, you name it.

Pictures – And to capture the moment, the minute your baby is born I’ll grab
the camera and begin taking pictures. As you and Dad, (or birth partner) are
holding baby for the first time, I’ll be in the background taking pictures. I try to
capture the moment in as great a detail as possible. During those first few
moments I take as many pictures as possible. Normally I use your camera
however, I can use mine if you’d prefer and give you a CD with the pictures on
it. Please keep mind these will be candid shots taken of you during labor and
after delivery.

Unlimited Phone Support - As part of your package, you will have unlimited
phone/email support. You are welcome to phone me anytime you have a
question … or just need to talk. I’m here to listen.

One postpartum visit to answer any questions you might have concerning
breastfeeding or newborn care. During this visit we’ll go over your birth
experience and I’ll answer any questions you might have.

Postpartum Pamper Pack - Once baby arrives you need to be pampered even
more. Your pack will include Mother’s Milk herbal tea for breastfeeding
support, some healthy snacks, ok and maybe some cookies and a handmade
ceramic footprint ornament of your baby. I’ll even bring a family size meal!

• I do NOT offer medical advice or make medical decisions. I can discuss
your concerns and suggest options. As your advocate, I can support you in
discussions with the staff, making sure you have an opportunity to express your
concerns; however, you or your partner will need to speak with the medical
staff.

Hiring a doula is an
investment in your
birth; I am there to help
you achieve the birth
experience you desire. My
fee for the Pampered Labor
Package is $700.00.

When we sign our contract,
a deposit of $325.00 is
required to add you to my
calendar, with the balance
due by the 36th week.

I no longer offer a sliding
scale, however I do one free
birth a month.*
